Book tickets for the National Theatre production of Age Is Revolting
We are excited to announce that live theatre will be appearing on stage at Spalding Academy TWICE this year as our talented Performing Arts students will be performing a National Theatre play as part of the Connections Festival 2024 as well as their sell-out end of term productions.
The first event at Spalding Academy on Wednesday 27th March 2024 will be the National Theatre production of a new play called ‘Age Is Revolting’ written by awarding-winning playwright Abi Zakarian.
Spalding Academy are one of over 200 schools/theatre groups who have been selected to participate in this nationwide youth theatre festival where the National Theatre commission brand new plays from some of the UK’s most exciting writers for young people to perform for the first time.
The production that our students will be performing is about a group of school kids who rebel against their boring music lesson, then hit the wrong note to be magically transformed into their 80-year-old selves and now live in a care home! Suddenly age, and their understanding of it, feels very relevant as they begin to confusedly navigate their way back to the present.
This is an amazing opportunity for the students at Spalding Academy to perform a newly written play and perform it on stage for the very first time.
Tickets will go on sale at 9am on Monday 4th March 2024 from www.ticketsource.co.uk/spaldingacademy and are £5 per person (£3 for concessions). The performance will start at 6pm on the evening with doors opening at 5.30pm.
Please note that the play is recommended for ages 13+ as may contain some strong language.
In addition to performing at Spalding Academy, our students will be performing ‘Age Is Revolting’ in April 2024 at the Nottingham Playhouse, who is their partner theatre for the Connections Festival. Further information about tickets for this performance will be available soon.
