Burghley House and Sculpture Gardens trip inspires 3D Art students

Last week, the Art department had the pleasure of taking our Year 10 3D Art & Design students to Burghley House and the Sculpture Gardens in Stamford.

The purpose of this visit was to collect primary stimulus and artist research for the students new project. The students were able to spend time viewing the architectural exterior and ornate interior of Burghley House through guided tours. Then the students explored the Sculpture Gardens and had time to draw interesting viewpoints of the building plus experiment with creating leaf hammering patterns.

Miss Baxter who organised the trip said “The students were impeccably behaved. We all had a fantastic day, which was made even more enjoyable in the glorious sunshine!”
