Careers Fair inspires students to prepare for their future
Spalding Academy welcomed over 40 exhibitors to our annual Careers Fair this week. This is always a really important event in our school calendar, which is available for students in all years and their parents/carers.
This event was held during the school day for Years 9 to 11 and also after school for all Years so students could visit the exhibitors during the day and then bring their parents/carers along after school to further their preparation for the future.
Our school aims to support every student to help them explore their options available at both post-16 and post-18 from the outstanding careers team based in our school. This Careers Fair is just part of an annual schedule of activities and events for years 7 to 11, which far exceeds the framework that schools have to follow.
This year the fair welcomed universities, colleges, apprenticeship providers, local and national employers including our main sponsor of this year Burmor Construction and the NHS, RAF, Army and also the Sixth Form at Bourne Academy.
The exhibitors brought a diverse range of interactive activities and equipment to the Careers Fair, which included construction-based activities, mannequins for students to practice taking blood and even agricultural farming machines!
All of the exhibitors were very impressed with how interested and professional our students were to find out more about what they could achieve in their future. The exhibitors were also impressed with the amount of questions students had.
