Spalding Academy are shortlisted for five Education Award categories
We are thrilled that Spalding Academy and our staff and students have been shortlisted for five categories in the 2023 Lincolnshire Free Press and Spalding Guardian Education Awards.
Across the Trust, we have a total of ten nominations across five categories and are delighted that the talents, dedication and hard work of our students and staff are recognised so we can celebrate their achievements.
The nominations across the Trust include:
Secondary School of the Year

Student of the Year (Secondary)
- Kiya Clark, Spalding Academy
- Matthew Harper, Cowley Academy
- Zion Serino-Jordan, Bourne Academy
Inspirational Teacher of the Year (Secondary)
- Mrs Penny Watt, Head of RE, Spalding Academy
- Miss Gemma Sanderson, Teacher of Mathematics and DofE Coordinator, Bourne Academy
Support Staff Member of the Year
- Mrs Nicky Marks, Attendance & Admissions Officer, Spalding Academy
- Mrs Steph Arden, Librarian, Bourne Academy
Environmental Champion
- Spalding Academy, Eco-Council and Prom Wardrobe Initiatives
The winners will be announced at a prestigious ceremony on Thursday 13th July 2023 at the Springfields Events and Conference Centre in Spalding.
