Superb GCSE Results
Spalding Academy has yet again achieved a superb set of end of key stage 4 GCSE & BTEC results, with the school showing continued improvement for the 3rd consecutive year. The initial progress scores for departments and the whole school will show that the school is on a continued journey of success, which will be shared once these progress scores have been validated. The school estimates that the vital ‘Progress 8’ measure that is closely scrutinised by Ofsted is set to be maintained from the +0.14, achieved in 2018 and will show that Spalding Academy students continue to make progress above the national average. A real success for the school has been the new vocational BTEC programmes introduced at Spalding Academy that have performed well in every subject, with 100% pass rate.
Executive Headteacher Lucy Conley comments: “Congratulations to the class of 2019 in securing another set of outstanding results. I am extremely proud of what our students have achieved, the results are a testament of their determination, hard work and commitment, and I would like to take this opportunity to thank staff for their ongoing dedication to our students’ achievements. Amidst all the headlines about new specifications and exam reform, there are some things that never change, such as excellent teaching and exam preparation combined with terrific effort from our students and our parents. Once again they are leaving us with the world at their feet, not only with the great results they deserve, but also with the broader skills, attributes and attitudes that come from being part of our school community. We wish them all the very best for the future.”
Spalding Academy has seen a number of individual successes, with some of the top performing students being; Julija Bindzaite, Matthew Walker, Katie Wiliamson and Luke Scampion, all of whom achieved Grade 6-9 and above in every subject studied.
