BTEC Music students perform live on stage for their assessment

Our BTEC Music students in Years 10 and 11 took part in their Unit 5 performance assessments by getting to perform live on the East Hall stage in a special performance night.

This involved the students learning two or three songs within a band and then performing them in front of their peers. There were a variety of songs chosen from different genres including songs by Coldplay, Billie Eilish, Amy Winehouse and even Katrina and the Waves!

Mr Barrett, Head of Music said “After working hard in on these pieces for a number of months within their Music lessons, it was fantastic to finally see the students get the opportunity to perform and show off their skills and talents. The atmosphere amongst the students on both evenings was filled with energy, support and encouragement and enjoyment was had by all who attended.”

If there are students would like to play an instrument and perform on stage, they can speak to Mr Barrett, Head of Music or Miss Armstrong, Teacher of Music about the BTEC Music course when choosing their Key Stage 4 options.
