Busy schedule of rehearsals before performing National Theatre play

Our talented cast of performing arts students have been busy rehearsing after school in the build-up to performing a National Theatre play live on stage at Spalding Academy next week.

They will be performing a new play called ‘Age Is Revolting’ written by awarding-winning playwright Abi Zakarian about a group of school kids who rebel against their boring music lesson, then hit the wrong note to be magically transformed into their 80-year-old selves.

This is an amazing opportunity for the students at Spalding Academy to perform a newly written play and perform it on stage for the very first time.

The National Theatre Connections Festival has been established for 28 years with a celebrated history of championing the talent of young people from across the UK. Every year, the National Theatre commission ten new plays for young people to perform in their schools and then at a professional working theatre.

If you would like to support our students and watch the play on Wednesday 27th March 2024, tickets are available from www.ticketsource.co.uk/spaldingacademy and are £5 per person. The performance will start at 6pm on the evening with doors opening at 5.30pm. Please note that the play is recommended for ages 13+ as may contain some strong language.
