PASTORAL
Pastoral at Spalding Academy
As an Academy as part of the South Lincolnshire Academies Trust, we constantly look to develop and nurture our students to be ready for their next stage of learning. In order to do this, it is imperative we have a calm and purposeful working environment for all our students to achieve and maximise their learning opportunities both in and out the classroom.
We have incredibly high standards of behaviour and conduct at our school and this is what makes Spalding Academy a special place to be. Students value the support they receive from our dedicated team of staff and Spalding Academy is a place where students feel happy and safe to be able to fulfil their ambitions.
Our staff are committed to ensuring that everyone within Spalding Academy behaves in a manner that shows mutual respect to all. Consequently, inappropriate behaviour towards peers or staff, including bullying in any form is not tolerated. If a student’s behaviour becomes a concern, appropriate sanctions will be implemented to ensure the necessary level of support is given in order for learning not to be impeded.
Our students want to achieve well and our extensive pastoral team are invaluable to ensure all of our students can Aspire – be Challenged – and to Achieve in all they set out to do.
The Pastoral Team
The Pastoral Team at Spalding Academy is led by Mr Ian Billinghurst who is supported by a team of non-teaching Pastoral Year Leads. Each Year group has their own Year Lead who will get to know the students individually as is the first point of contact.
In addition to the Pastoral Team below, students are supported by our Safeguarding Team, Heads of House and Form Tutors.
