Preparing students for life after Spalding Academy
Preparing students in their transition for life after Spalding Academy
We always take pride in how we support our students to ensure they are fully prepared after they leave our school after Year 11. Our careers team are very proactive in supporting students which is why Miss Grant, Careers and Student Progression Coordinator at Spalding Academy recently took a small group of students to Boston College to aide their transition in September.
On the trip, the students visited the departments of the courses they have applied for and had the opportunity to ask college staff and students questions about course content and what they can expect when they start college. As college can be very different to being at school this also helped reassure our students.
Miss Grant, Careers Co-ordinator at Spalding Academy said “All the students were impressed by the facilities offered at Boston College, particularly the simulation and are excited about the next part of their educational journey. We even got to see five day old kittens, amongst a plethora of other animals in the animal enclosure, which sealed the interest for one of our students wanting to study in this sector.”
