Year 9 Sports Leaders involved with Primary School Football Festival
Our Year 9 students who study the Sports Leaders award had the opportunity to get involved with a Primary School Football Festival for Year 5 & 6 students that was hosted by Spalding Academy before the end of last term.
The event organised by School Games provided a fantastic experience for our students to improve their communication skills, leadership qualities and confidence as they were involved in helping run the competition by officiating and score keeping.
As the primary school students were in Years 5 and 6, this was also a great transition event to help students in their transition from primary to secondary school.
Mr Munton, Teacher of PE who runs the Sports Leaders programme said “I couldn’t be prouder of our twelve Sports Leaders. They received high praise from the School Games leader and displayed excellent leadership skills throughout the day. It was refreshing to see all of the primary school staff and students thanking our students for their efforts to ensure the day run smoothly.”
