A 'wheely' good cause to benefit from refurbished bikes

It is always good to have a clear out when it’s the new year. Our Premises Assistant, Richard Hibbert was doing just that and discovered 15 old bikes that have been discarded and stored at the school over many years.

Rather than disposing of them, Richard has ensured they go to help a good cause by contacting Paul Watson from ‘Paul Jo Bikes’ in Spalding who specialise in refurbishing old bikes.

Paul has kindly collected the bikes and once refurbished, the shop will sell them and give to proceeds to local charity The Lighthouse Project who help young people through a variety of initiatives. ‘Paul Jo Bikes’ have raised almost £12,000 for the charity and it is heart-warming that Spalding Academy can also help towards this local cause.
