Ana Cojocariu with Mr Jemma Curson, Head of School
The Lincolnshire Schools Poetry Competition has been taking place in primary and secondary schools throughout Lincolnshire since it was first established in 1996.
We are pleased to announce that Year 9 student Ana Cojocariu was awarded third place in the KS3 category and was awarded a cash prize and certificate for her creative entry.
The theme for this year was ‘The Environment’ and there were over 600 entries submitted from all schools across Lincolnshire so for Ana to have her poem chosen as one of the winners was a fantastic achievement.
This year’s competition was judged by Scott Coe, who the current Stamford Poet Laureate. When judging Ana’s poem, he said “The poem was powerful and personal and the words punch at you from off the page. It is a strongly emotive acrostic piece.”
This is a fantastic achievement as Ana is an incredibly hardworking and talented student. We are delighted that Ana’s abilities have been recognised as one of the most promising young writers in Lincolnshire.
