Tickets to go on general sale for our end of year musical ‘Bookworm’

We are pleased to announce that tickets for our end of year musical ‘Bookworm’ will go on general sale from 9am on Monday 8th June 2026.

There will be three evening performances to entertain audiences of all ages on Wednesday 1st July, Thursday 2nd July and Friday 3rd July 2026. The shows will start at 7.00pm with doors opening at 6.30pm.

‘Bookworm’ is a heart-warming variety show set over the course of a single school day at Woodbrook Academy. When brand-new drama teacher Miss Lesley is asked to supervise the students from Bus 24601 during bad weather, she quickly discovers that her first day will be anything but ordinary.

Trouble begins when school bully Billie steals a treasured musical theatre history book from the shy and timid student known only as ‘Bookworm’. As the sentimental book is opened, tempers flare, arguments erupt, and something magical happens, the students find themselves inspired to perform a series of unforgettable musical numbers.

Caught in the chaos by the strict headmistress, Ms Parton, Miss Lesley issues a detention. Yet what begins as a punishment soon becomes an opportunity. Through song, performance and shared experiences, a group of unlikely friends discover the power of theatre to bring people together. As barriers break down, they learn to respect one another and realise that everyone, student and teacher alike, is searching for their place within the school community.

The show will feature hits from various hits musicals including Our House, Mamma Mia!, Come From Away and Everybody’s Talking About Jamie.

We have an incredible cast of student performers from Years 7 to 11 who will be singing, acting and dancing this original variety production that celebrates teamwork, understanding, friendship and the transformative magic of performance.

Tickets are £4 / £6 per person and you can select your preferred seats when booking. Please remember to book early as previous end of year musicals have all sold out!
