Can you offer a work experience placement for Sixth Formers?
Can you offer a work experience placement for Sixth Formers?

Chances are that most people will have fond memories of completing work experience and remember how rewarding and invaluable this can be.
Many of the students at Spalding Academy progress onto the Sixth Form at Bourne Academy and when they are in Year 12, work experience is an important activity that can help shape and impact the decisions they make for university and employment.
It could open doors to an exciting apprenticeship opportunity or help them discover a career path they had never considered. Real life experiences play a key role in their decision-making process and the careers department aim to fully prepare students as much as possible.
Since Covid there have been more people working from home, so it has become more difficult for some of the students to find a work placement. The Sixth Form at Bourne Academy would therefore love to hear from local employers in the Spalding area who are able to offer one-week work experience placement from Monday 4th to Friday 8th July 2022 for their Year 12 students.
It doesn’t matter if you run your own small business on your own or you are the manager of a small or large department in your organisation, there will be students who would appreciate the opportunity and experience that you can offer.
The staff at Bourne Academy Sixth Form will ensure that students are matched with the most suitable employers so the businesses will also benefit from having a motivated and enthusiastic student who is willing to learn and get involved.
If you own or work for a business (or know someone else who does) and can help the Sixth Form students with a placement then please get in contact with Libby Barber, Careers & Student Progression Manager or Rachel Double, Head of Sixth Form by emailing sixthform@bourneacademy.org or call 01778 391246 (direct line).
