Debut indoor hockey tournament for U14 girls team

We are always keen for our students to try new ways of playing their favourite sports and our U14 girls hockey team played their first tournament indoors. This is a fast paced version of outdoor hockey where the ball runs quicker on a sports hall surface and in a smaller playing area.

The team quickly adapted to the game as the tournament progress and overall, the team finished third in the competition which included teams from Peterborough and Bourne.

A special mention and a massive thank you goes to Honor Pearson in Year 11 who umpired the whole tournament, alongside former student Mia Dewing who is now a Young Umpire for England Hockey. Both of them done an outstanding job!

Miss Laura Donaldson, Teacher of PE at Spalding Academy said “The whole team played fantastic from start to finish and should be extremely proud with their performances. In the last two games, the started to show their true potential and I’m very excited to see what the outdoor tournament has to offer for these girls.”
