Young musicians perform, produce, engineer and run an entire show

On Wednesday evening this week, over 20 of our budding musicians had the incredible experience to perform, produce and engineer and entire music concert for our EVOLVE Project.
This is one of the many highlights in the music calendar at Spalding Academy and gives opportunities for students from all year groups and all abilities to get involved in music and the creative arts.
For some of these students, this was the first time performing in front of a live audience and it was impressive how they put their nerves aside and delivered fantastic performances that they should be very proud of.
We were treated to bands and solo acts performing a set list packed with pop, rock and indie songs. Not only are our students talented musicians, but also emerging songwriters as we can say “we were there” when we heard an original song written and performed by Amelia Legood in Year 10.
By hosting the event at Spalding Academy this year, this meant that even more people attended so there was a fantastic audience of over 120 family and friends who enjoyed a night out to support our students.
Mr Martin, Head of School said โA special thank you goes to Mr Barrett, Miss Sanderson and Miss Kilby for supporting our amazing students. The Music Department always go above and beyond to support our musicians and this was a superb opportunity for them to experience a live performance in front an a large audience.โ
