Return back to school and help as an Exam Invigilator

There are so many important and valued roles within our School but without Exam Invigilators, our students wouldn’t be able to sit their exams and achieve their qualifications.

These unsung heroes ensure the smooth running of GCSE, BTEC and A-level exams by working in small teams and following the regulations as set by the examination bodies.

The busiest time of year for the exams department is the summer term, but there is always a need for Exam Invigilators throughout the academic year with students sitting formal and internal exams in the winter and spring terms.

The role appeals to anyone who is looking for part-time work as this offers them the flexibility of choosing when to work and this is during the school day. There are exams in the morning and afternoon so you can work half or full days up to five days a week. For parents with children at school, the job is ideal as it is during term time only.

It is also a rewarding job as you are supporting the local community by working in a school where you know you are helping young people during an important time of their lives.

For those who are looking to progress their career by working in a school, it will help you get a ‘foot in the door’ that could lead to other job opportunities.

Spalding Academy, Bourne Academy, Giles Academy and Cowley Academy are looking to recruit staff to become Exam Invigilators.

The rate of pay is currently £12.96 per hour and for many people, it will be tax free as long as you earn under £12,570 per year.

No formal qualifications are required and full training will be given. The training can be completed online and will only take four hours to complete, which you are also paid for. There is then additional training in person once you start the role so staff are fully supported.

We are looking for good communicators who are organised, conscientious, observant and who enjoy working as part of a team.

If you are interested in becoming an Exam Invigilator, please contact any of the schools in our Trust directly. An application form is available on the button below and can be returned to the school you are interested in working.
