LiSH pilot scheme offers confidential and non-judgemental advice
Spalding Academy is one of ten schools in Lincolnshire who have benefited from a pilot scheme run by Lincolnshire Sexual Health (LiSH). Students in Year 10 and 11 have been able to receive free confidential and non-judgemental advice from experienced nurses when a mobile clinic visited the school this week.
Rather than this being a drop-in service, students were able to book general advice or 30-minute appointments in advance through the pastoral staff at Spalding Academy. Parents were able to let the school know if they did not wish their child to have the opportunity to access this voluntary service.
The safety and wellbeing of our students is always important and this service provided an opportunity to support our students to make safer and healthier choices. For young people, it is not always possible to travel to health clinics so providing this support at school has been beneficial.
