Staff bake cakes to raise money for Macmillan Cancer Support
When it comes to raising money for charity and the opportunity to have a slice of cake, the staff at Spalding Academy are always up for the challenge. At the end of last month, the staff whisked, mixed, piped and baked (as well as ate) for charity by hosting a staff Macmillan Coffee Morning.
Across the Trust, Spalding Academy along with Bourne Academy, Cowley Academy and Giles Academy raised over £1,000 for Macmillan Cancer Support.
There were plenty of showstopper cakes and bakes on display with something for everyone. This included traditional, indulgent, fruity and even experimental varieties plus there were ‘gluten free’ and ‘dairy free’ versions so everyone could enjoy a slice.
A special thank you goes to Miss Fuller (Teacher of Science) for helping organise the event and Mr Billinghurst (Trust Associate Pastoral Director) for organising the charity raffle plus all the staff who baked a cake and made generous donations to buy a slice (or two).
