Retirement fundraiser raises over £8,000 for YoungMinds charity
In the lead up to Mrs Conley’s retirement after 35 years in education, she wanted to raise money for the YoungMinds charity who do an incredible job in giving advice and support to young people affected by mental health.
Before Mrs Conley retired, she requested that she does not want any leaving presents, but what would make her happier than anything is to raise money for charity and people to make donations instead.
The school community also come together with a special one-off non uniform day with the theme of ‘Sparkle & Bright’ earlier this month.
In total, over £8,000 has been raised (with Gift Aid this amount is over £9,500) through the non-uniform day and retirement donations from staff, parents, former students and current students.
Mrs Conley said “I am deeply grateful for every donation and message of support. Knowing that this contribution will help young people access the guidance and care they need has been extremely uplifting.”
