Nova House are crowned the cross country champions of Spalding
One of the first House competitions of the year was the annual Inter-House Cross Country competition for Years 7 to 10 and to ensure all students could be involved, the event took place during normal PE lessons.
This was a chance for students to earn valuable House points and everyone participating was part of the House team. As well as earning House points, the competition also helps the school select runners to represent the school cross country teams.
Miss Pearce, Teacher of PE and the PE Department run a series of Inter-House competitions throughout the year to give students the opportunity to contribute to their House identity and award system as well as take part in a range of extra physical activities. These competitions have many benefits for our students physical, social and mental well-being.
Cross Country is a great sport as there is no cost, it’s can be done in any weather plus running is popular form of exercise. It is a social activity you can do with friends, family or at a running club (such as Halmer Harriers) with a view of encouraging lifelong participation in running as a great way to keep fit.
