Outstanding performances from our talented Gymnastics Team

Our talented Gymnastics Team took part in the Regional Floor & Vault Competition in Stamford on Saturday 5th February 2022 and they had outstanding individual and team performances.

Emilia Wilson in Year 7 was the only competitor (out of 90 competitors on the day) to record a perfect score of 16 / 16 on the vault and achieved the highest score of the whole competition with 31 / 32. One of the competition judges who will be judging at the Commonwealth Games in this summer said it was the best vault he had seen and was astonished that she was only in Year 7. This is certainly high praise from a national judge who knows what he is talking about.

The whole team performed incredibly well and can be very proud of themselves as came away with 3rd place in a very close competition between 1st, 2nd and 3rd (and there was some distance between the teams in 4th and 5th place as we beat them by 7 / 8 whole marks!).

Three teachers from separate schools came over to congratulate them on their beautiful floor routines and the floor judge said they were the best floor routines she had seen so far that day.
