Bobby Copping who is a former Peterborough United professional footballer and now Schools Initiative / Women’s First Team Operations Manager at the football club, took the time to visit Spalding Academy this week.
In a school assembly, students in years 7 and 8 were able to learn more out about the football club and the opportunities available for boys and girls as well as how Bobby is supporting young sports people to deal with mental health issues through the Bobby Copping Foundation.
Club mascot, ‘Peter Burrow’ and Bobby then treated the year 7 students to a fun coaching session on our floodlit astroturf pitch where everyone took part in skills activities and had a practice game.
The club have also generously provided free tickets for a Peterborough United home game and a complementary scarf, which will be displayed in the school trophy cabinet. Thank you to Bobby and the club for supporting the school and inspiring our students.
