Year 8 Rounders team take part in their first inter-school tournament
Our Year 8 Rounders Team competed in their first ever inter-school rounders tournament last week at Spalding High School, where they played against teams from Bourne, Deepings, Spalding and Holbeach.
All of the games were incredibly close with many of the games only having a difference of 1 or 2 rounders scored. The team should be really pleased that in their first ever rounders tournament, they achieved 3rd place overall.
Emma Ringrose, PE Teacher at Spalding Academy said “The team not only showed great batting skills but they were also incredible at fielding and managed to get many of their opponents out.”
Tournament results:
- Spalding Academy 8½ – 2 The Deepings School (Spalding Academy caught out 6 batters)
- Spalding Academy 5½ – 3½ Bourne Academy (Spalding Academy caught out 5 batters)
- Spalding Academy 4½ – 5½ Spalding High School 1 (Spalding Academy caught out 5 batters)
- Spalding Academy 6 – 7½ Spalding High School 2 (Spalding Academy caught out 5 batters)
