Science Club learn how to use extra ingredients with their pumpkins
One of the new extra-curricular activities launched this term was an after school Science Club to inspire Year 7 and 8 students to develop their interest in Science in a fun and engaging way.
The after-school club takes place every Thursday and for the end of term activity they made ‘vomiting pumpkins’ using vinegar and bicarbonate of soda. Students firstly had to create their spooky looking pumpkins with intricate carvings then add a big dose of science to make the special effects.
The competition was judged by Mrs Smith and Miss Moore who said “The designs created by our students were very detailed and there was some extremely bubbly reactions. Thank you to Miss Davis and Mrs Clark for providing this opportunity to our younger students.”
