Spalding Academy are once again crowned Boccia champions
Reigning champions Spalding Academy went to Tulip Academy this week to compete in the annual South Lincolnshire Boccia Championships.
This exciting indoor sport uses soft leather balls and requires a combination of precision, skill and tactics to score points by getting closest to the target jack.
We had two teams participate in the competition, which had nine teams in total competing from other schools.
The teams were split into three leagues and Spalding A Team topped the group and went on to win the whole competition after quickly finding their form after their first game. This is the second year in a row that Spalding Academy has won the competition.
The Spalding B Team came second in their group, which was a great achievement as all players were new to the sport so this was their first competition.
