Spalding Academy are winners at the Lincolnshire Education Awards
Last month we were excited to hear that Spalding Academy had been shortlisted in numerous categories for the 2023 Lincolnshire Free Press and Spalding Guardian Education Awards.
Across the Trust, we had a total of TEN nominations across FIVE categories which celebrated and recognised the achievements, talents, dedication and hard work of our students and staff.
At a prestigious ceremony on Thursday 13th July 2023 at the Springfields Events and Conference Centre in Spalding the schools in our Trust were celebrating as we won four of the categories with Spalding Academy winning both Secondary School Student of the Year and Environmental Champions!
Kiya Clark in Year 7 was awarded Secondary School Student of the Year in recognition of her tenacity shown to learning and drive to continue with her education well.
The Spalding Academy Eco-Council run by Mr Martin Jolly and the Prom Wardrobe Initiative run by Ms Mihaela Lammin and Mrs Natasha Ward were jointly awarded Environmental Champions for their innovative schemes and ideas to reduce the impact on the environment through recycling, reusing and regenerating.
We also congratulate Mrs Penny Watt, Head of RE who was runner-up in the Inspirational Secondary School Teacher of the Year category and Mrs Nicky Marks, Attendance Manager who was runner-up in the Support Staff Member of the Year category.
