Tenpin bowling stars on a roll in Panathlon competition

A team of nine students travelled to Hollywood Bowl in Peterborough to represent Spalding Academy in an Inclusive Tenpin Bowling competition organised by Panathlon and Lincolnshire School Games.

The Panathlon Challenge is a national charity that provides sports competitions and training days for young people with disabilities and special educational needs. One of the popular sporting events they organise is tenpin bowling as this is a fantastic inclusive sport that everyone can participate in.

The team performed exceptionally well and were bowling stars to secure second place overall in an exciting competition. A standout performance came from Jonah Stamp in Year 9, who demonstrated remarkable skill by achieving the highest individual score of the day.

Mr Favell, Teacher of PE said “The event provided an excellent opportunity for students to engage in competitive sports in a fun and social environment. The competition highlighted the importance of inclusive sporting events, allowing students to showcase their talents while building connections with peers from other schools.”
