Tenpin bowling stars on a roll as they strike to perfection

Thirteen of our students travelled to Hollywood Bowl in Peterborough to represent Spalding Academy in an Inclusive Tenpin Bowling competition organised by Panathlon.

The Panathlon Challenge is a national charity that provides sports competitions and training days for young people with disabilities and special educational needs. One of the popular sporting events they organise is tenpin bowling as this is a fantastic inclusive sport that everyone can participate in.

Our students were bowling stars throughout the competition and performed brilliantly to represent Spalding Academy.

Congratulations go to Saxon Clark who achieved 2nd place overall in the tournament with his fantastic bowling where he scored over 100 points in a game to earn a spot in the prestigious 100 Club. Saxon also won the award for the most strikes and spares bowled, showcasing his natural bowling prowess.

Special mentions also go to Charlie Lowe, who scored over 100 points in a game and Bryce Phillips who just missing the 100 Club by one point with a score of 99.

Mr Favell, Teacher of PE said “All of the Spalding Academy students competed admirably and should be commended for their fine efforts. Experiences like this bowling competition help build confidence, sportsmanship and inclusiveness among our students. We are grateful to organisations like Panathlon for creating opportunities for our students to participate in athletic activities and competitions.”
