Can you offer our Sixth Formers a work experience placement?

Chances are that most people will have fond memories of completing work experience and remember how rewarding and invaluable this can be.

Many of the students at Spalding Academy progress onto the Sixth Form at Bourne Academy and when they are in Year 12, work experience is an important activity that can help shape and impact the decisions they make for university and employment.

It could open doors to an exciting apprenticeship opportunity or help them discover a career path they had never considered. Real life experiences play a key role in their decision-making process and our careers department aim to fully prepare students as much as possible.

Since Covid there have been more people working from home, so it has become more difficult for some of our students to find a work placement. We would therefore love to hear from local employers who are able to offer one-week work experience placement from Monday 17th June to Friday 21st June 2024 for our Year 12 Sixth Form students.

It doesn’t matter if you run your own small business on your own or you are the manager of a small or large department in your organisation, there will be students who would appreciate the opportunity and experience that you can offer.

The Sixth Form staff will ensure that our students are matched with the most suitable employers so the businesses will also benefit from having a motivated and enthusiastic student who is willing to learn and get involved.

If you own or work for a business (or know someone else who does) and can help our Sixth Form students with a placement then please get in contact with us. You can contact Mrs Libby Barber, Post 16 Lead by email barberl@bourneacademy.org or call 01778 391246 (direct line).
