World Book Day inspires Year 7 to celebrate their favourite books

Our Year 7 students were able to celebrate ‘World Book Day’ on Thursday this week by coming to school dressed as their favourite character from a book, which includes many classics, young adults fiction, graphic novels and biographies.

It was optional for students to participate in, and we were impressed there were so many amazing costumes with lots of thought, effort and imagination gone into them.

To reward our students for taking part, we held a ‘Best Costume’ competition in the library where there were gift voucher prizes and certificates to the winners.

Congratulations to the following students and also everyone who took part.

  • 1st place – Gracie Ibbertson
  • Runner-up – Emelia Bennett & Mollie Bennett
  • Runner-up – Sebastian Hasley

The World Book Day ‘Best Costume’ competition also took place in all of the schools in our Trust and below we have shared some of the highlights from Bourne Academy, Cowley Academy and Giles Academy.
