Young musicians perform, produce, engineer and run an entire show
The music department at Spalding Academy have been working closely with Lincolnshire One Venues as part of the EVOLVE Project to develop our highly talented young musicians. This involved twenty of our students being involved to produce, engineer and run an entire show as well as perform on stage.
This live music event was held at the South Holland Centre in Spalding on Wednesday afternoon and evening where our students delivered two professional shows. The standard of performances was very high as students performed with confidence and style with songs from The Cure to Coldplay and ABBA to Lady Gaga.
In the evening, there was a fantastic audience of over 100 family and friends who enjoyed a night out to support our students. The money raised from the event will go towards new equipment for the music department so we are incredibly grateful to everyone who attended.
Mrs Jemma Curson, Head of School said “A special thank you goes to Mr Barrett and Miss Armstrong for supporting our amazing students. The music department always go above and beyond to support our musicians and this was a superb opportunity for them to experience a live performance on a professional stage.”
